Faith leads them west. Trouble never stays behind.

When Uzziah O’Bannon and Immanuel Jones receive a message from the settlement, they ride to Vrain Trading Post and soon find themselves enlisted by Porter Rockwell, bodyguard to the late Joseph Smith. With the Mormon prophet killed, the remaining followers must be guided west to the Great Salt Lake. Along the trail lie hardship, sickness, and loss—including an attack by Comanches and the long-awaited burial of Hannah and baby George in a highland meadow.

After a punishing winter in the Rockies, the two mountain men are drawn south when a Texas cattle drive falters. The Great Northern Cattle Company sends 1,500 longhorns north from Fort Belknap, but dying cattle and dead men bring the drive to the edge of collapse. Uzziah and Immanuel step in to help.

The journey continues by river, but more lives are lost along the way. In Wolf Point, trail boss Ned “Texas” Brownley unveils a secret weapon to face the local tribes—and what follows is chaos only two mountain men could walk into by accident.

This two-book bundle includes the thirteenth and fourteenth novels in the Uzziah Mountain Man Series.
