Letters of a Timeless Promise, 1872
A Novel by Rita Weston
In a world governed by duty and social distinction, some promises are too profound to be forgotten.
Hampshire, England, 1872.
Against the elegance and rigid conventions of Victorian society unfolds the deeply personal story of Eleanor Branning, a young woman whose understanding of love, loyalty and destiny is forever transformed by her encounter with Jonathan Carter, a gentleman of considerable wealth and social standing.
In an era when reputation determines opportunity and marriage is shaped as much by circumstance as by affection, Eleanor must navigate the delicate boundaries between personal happiness and the expectations imposed upon her. Her growing attachment to Jonathan awakens emotions that neither propriety nor social convention can easily suppress.
Through intimate recollections, treasured correspondence and promises exchanged in moments of quiet tenderness, Eleanor recounts a relationship defined not merely by romance, but by the difficult choices that accompany genuine devotion.
As the demands of family, class and responsibility threaten the future they might share, Eleanor and Jonathan are confronted with a question that transcends their own time: can love endure when honour, circumstance and society demand its surrender?
Rich in historical atmosphere and emotional depth, Letters of a Timeless Promise, 1872 explores the enduring conflict between duty and desire, the fragility of human expectations and the extraordinary power of words preserved across generations.
Set amid the country estates, changing social landscape and quiet beauty of nineteenth-century Hampshire, Rita Weston's novel offers an evocative portrait of a woman determined to remain faithful to her heart without losing her sense of dignity or independence.
A story of love, remembrance and the promises that outlive the passing years.
Part of the Hearts Entwined Through Time trilogy by Rita Weston.
