Promiscuous Dreams

I am delighted to present PROMISCUOUS DREAMS, the third book of THE SECRET BUTTERFLY SERIES (tm).

What would you do if you suddenly discovered you had the world eating out of your hand, as Marty does? What might be going through our nymphomaniac's mind as she tries to sort out her choices and make decisions about her future? Will David want Marty in the company after hearing about her escapades and learning of her trusting liaison with Bertie and George? Notice how David probes her to understand her thoughts. Is he doing that because he loves her promiscuous ways? Is he thinking of ways to help her make her murders more pleasing? Could he, perhaps, be asking his questions for a hidden reason? Does David see himself as a CEO, or more as the secretive maestro of dysfunctional personalities? Yes, our David is a complicated fellow. Don't ignore anything he says or does, and don't let him out of your sight!

"Inspiration for the Series originated with a recurring premonition. I imagine our world plunging into its Second Dark Ages. Our First Dark Ages cast humanity into a terrible abyss. People died of plagues, starvation, and cruelty. Our Second Dark Ages may also have similar abysmal occurrences; but mainly, it will be remembered as the time when many abandoned their morality and accepted the new era's immorality. Rather than choosing sides in this great moral struggle, the Series' fictional saga showcases the behaviors of characters caught up in the changing morality; reveals the underlying causes of their behaviors: Greed; Lust; Passion; Romance; Power and Control; Manipulation; Narcissism; Ambition; Jealousy; Revenge; and Love, the most compelling cause of all.

"Several assumptions underly the Series. First: Relatable human history began about twenty thousand years ago; not six thousand years ago, as much orthodoxy teaches. Second: Human souls transport and renew themselves, through time, into new living humans. Third: Human morality swings like a pendulum's arc, from Pagan Temple goers' prostitution worshipping rituals of twenty thousand years ago, to rigid nineteenth century Victorian era moral codes; back to our present time, where we are reverting to humanity's spirit-based, creation worship morality.

It was in memory of a dear friend that I wrote THE SECRET BUTTERFLY SERIES(TM). I tried to imagine what her life might have been like had she been born into wealth before choosing her path in life, like the Marty character in the SERIES. Through Marty, I imagined my friend came back to me and followed her dream of becoming a star of intimate artistry. Her soul now lives with mine. It moves forward through time in the personas of Series' characters Barbara, Sheila, Cecilia, Connie, Jo Anne, Linda, Pattie, Sandra, and the others. The soul that arose in my friend has long walked alongside humanity's progress. It blessed humankind from across the millennia when it assumed the personas of Astarte, Sarah, Jessabelle, Salome, Cleopatra, and the others.The history of the Series' secret jewels intersects with the lives of its characters. Human life, debauchery and depravity intertwine. Reflecting on what I wrote, I wonder whether characters Susan and Marvin's choices project justifications for my own choices? Could Susan's soul's quest actually be my own? Why was I compelled to describe Marty's explicit feelings while she seduced? Why was I so descriptive of her rapture while she murdered? Reaching my friend's soul required learning how spirits relate to humans. They communicate with us through the butterflies! It's true. I'm certain of it. Bertie's character illustrates the phenomenon. It happened with me as it did with her character. By relating to my friend's spirit in this straightforward way, I brought her soul to me. Now I can see her again and embrace her. We are together and happy again.
