For undergraduate courses in Information Systems that include Project Management
Project Management for Information Systems is a comprehensive introduction to the design and implementation of computer-based information systems. The book combines theory, practice and advice on the role of the project leader in managing the team, the individual and the task. This book will enable the reader to plan all aspects of an IS project and to ensure that the project is implemented in a timely way and to budget. The book takes a very practical approach, which examines best practice and why projects fail.
Both students and lecturers can benefit from the textbook's excellent supplementary material, which can be found at www.booksites.net/cadle

From the Back Cover
“For those studying project management for information systems, this book has no equal.”
Roger Atkinson, Bournemouth University
Based on practical experience this book provides everything you need to get started on an IS project and to see it through to successful completion, whether you are a student of information systems and project management or a practising project manager.
Clear explanation of theory combined with the exploration of a variety of project management methodologies helps the reader develop a thorough understanding of the subject. The mixture of hard and soft topic coverage encourages the development of all the skills needed to successfully manage the team, the individual and the task. Case studies, exercises and good and bad examples from real life help the reader to start putting the theory into context and into practice.
This edition contains the most up-to-date thinking on issues such as:
- Multinational and multicultural projects.
- Establishing the business case for your project.
- The latest initiatives in quality, soft systems, extreme programming and virtual teams.
Project Management for Information Systems is all you need to plan every aspect of an IS project and ensure that it is implemented on time, within budget and to quality standards.
