nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - Progressive Problems in Physics offers rigorous, hands-on training for the determined student. Master physics through disciplined practise. Rooted in the pedagogy of twentieth century physics, this volume is a compact physics problem collection arranged to build skill by deliberate progression: quick checks of basic concepts lead into demanding classical mechanics problems and carefully staged exercises in electricity and magnetism. The book marries the authority of an academic physics textbook with the day-to-day usefulness of a physics workbook for students, functioning equally well as a physics study guide or a self-study physics resource for college physics students. Many items serve as advanced physics exercises suitable for honours work and for focused physics exam preparation, not by offering short cuts but by training analytical technique, estimation and model-building. It reads as a sober Schaum's outline alternative, offering deeper problems and a steadier focus on method. Worked approaches illuminate method while still asking the reader to think; the emphasis is on understanding, not on memorising formulae. Tutors will find material ready for seminars; individual learners will gain steady measurable progress. The exercises reward return visits: a problem tackled once becomes an enduring training ground for intuition and technique, ideal for revision, tutorial preparation and bridging towards more advanced study.Republished by Alpha Editions in a careful modern edition, this volume preserves the spirit of the original while making it effortless to enjoy today - a heritage title prepared for readers and collectors alike. As a historical artefact it records the instructional habits of another era and thus has literary and pedagogic significance: it shows how earlier instructors shaped scientific judgement through problems rather than exposition. Casual readers with an appetite for intellectual challenge will enjoy the clarity and craft of the exercises; classic-literature collectors and academic libraries will value the restored edition as both a usable physics workbook for students and a piece of cultural history. Valuable both as a reference for instructors and as a quiet companion for anyone devoted to understanding the physics beneath the formulae, it sits comfortably between course shelf and collector's cabinet.…
