The Progress of Baptist Principles in the Last Hundred Years. By Thomas F. Curtis and printed in Boston by Gould and Lincoln. 1855, 422 pp, 7.75” x 5.25”, 8vo, hardcover full black cloth. In good condition, with rubbing and wear to exterior, primarily along edges and corners. Loss to head and heel of spine. Light cracking to front hinge, along with light exterior tears to binding between front board and spine. Text block remains bound well. Light markings and marignalia, including an old-hand inscription from 1856 at front. Small catalogue of other books by publisher at rear. Staining to edges of some pages, more prominently at front. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce piece on the rise, development, and reception of Baptist principles in the previous century. By Thomas F. Curtis, an author and professor of theology in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
