In the most intense and emotional World Cup ever played, the fate of a nation's team lies in the hands of one woman who must face her past, fight for love, and rise to glory under the brightest lights on Earth. "Professional V: World Cup - Live or Die" is a gripping and deeply human sports drama that blends world-class women's football with heartfelt romance and emotional transformation. After qualifying early for the 2026 FIFA Women's World Cup in Germany, Team USA finds itself in the center of controversy. Head coach Caroline Kerr makes a polarizing decision-resting her starting players before the final group matches. The bold move sparks criticism, risks team chemistry, and puts the spotlight on the squad's captain and superstar: Mia Sonic Page.Off the pitch, Mia's life is just as complex and high-stakes. During a brief return home, she reconnects with her ex-girlfriend and college roommate, Samantha Kane, nicknamed "The Sniper." Their reunion is emotional, intimate, and transformative, reigniting a love that never truly faded. But that's not all-Mia also discovers she has a four-year-old niece, Maggie Page, the daughter of her late cousin Ann. Overnight, Mia's world expands beyond football: she now has a family to protect, a relationship to rebuild, and a legacy to fight for.As the tournament unfolds, the U.S. team faces a brutal group: reigning champions Germany, rising powerhouse Switzerland, and relentless New Zealand. Every match is a war, every decision critical. Mia, a two-time Ballon d'Or winner and one of the most iconic figures in sports, leads with courage and vulnerability, driven not only by ambition but by newfound personal purpose. The emotional core of the novel is amplified by the intertwining relationships. Alongside Mia and Samantha's rekindled love, another story blooms: that of Kara Lipton, the team's star goalkeeper, and Todd Page, Mia's cousin and Maggie's legal guardian. Their attraction is sudden, raw, and deeply moving, showing that even in the chaos of global competition, love can strike at any moment-and change everything."Professional V: World Cup - Live or Die" is more than a sports novel. It's a story of women who lead, love, and refuse to compromise. It explores motherhood, queer love, trauma, resilience, and the strength found in chosen family. Through locker room pep talks, late-night conversations, childhood memories, and passionate kisses, the reader is drawn into a vibrant world where every heartbeat matters and every goal is personal. From the group stage in Duesseldorf to the knockouts in Hamburg, the story delivers adrenaline-fueled matches, locker room tension, and edge-of-your-seat drama. But at its heart, it's about the humanity of the players-their dreams, their fears, their sacrifices, and their desire to love and be loved without apology. This is a novel that celebrates diversity, identity, strength, and second chances. Whether you're a fan of women's football, LGBTQ+ fiction, romantic drama, or character-driven storytelling, Professional V offers a deeply satisfying and unforgettable reading experience. In the end, Mia Sonic Page isn't just chasing a trophy-she's chasing a future. A life with Samantha. A family with Maggie. A love that defies the odds. On the world's biggest stage, she will prove why legends are made not just on the field, but in the moments between the games, in the quiet courage to choose love and life-again and again. This is not just a match.
