If you lead a consulting, advisory, or professional services firm and growth is limited by custom work, Productize shows you how to turn your expertise into scalable offerings.
More and more professional services firms are exploring productization as a strategy to grow faster, improve valuations, and compete with digital-first competitors. Yet many organizations struggle when they attempt to move from custom services to repeatable solutions.
The reason is simple: most services firms were never designed to build, launch, and commercialize products.
Productize explains why many productization efforts fail and provides a practical roadmap for doing it successfully. The book first outlines the Seven Deadly Productization Mistakes that derail many initiatives, then provides a blueprint for avoiding them and building scalable offerings the right way.
Designed specifically for leaders of consulting and professional services organizations, Productize combines real-world examples, case studies, and practical tools to help you move from custom delivery to repeatable solutions.
Inside the book you’ll learn how to:
• Shift your culture from a services mindset to a product mindset
• Determine which capabilities you need and whether to build or acquire them
• Decide how much to invest in exploring scalable offerings
• Validate that there is real market demand for your product idea
• Sequence investments in product development and commercialization
• Work effectively with developers and technical partners
• Test new ideas quickly and inexpensively before committing large resources
• Align and enable your sales team to successfully sell productized offerings
The book also includes more than two dozen practical tools and templates your team can use to implement these ideas immediately, along with real case studies from professional services leaders who have successfully created scalable offerings.
Drawing on 25+ years of experience launching and growing productized services, Eisha Armstrong shares practical insights from organizations that have successfully navigated the shift from custom services to scalable solutions.
If your firm is exploring how to grow beyond custom work and build more scalable offerings, Productize provides the playbook.
