Cotton is grown as a cash crop in many countries of the world. But the limited land resources in agriculture and high cropping intensity limits cotton production due to its low benefit from mono cropping. To increase the productivity and monetary benefit of farmers from cotton cultivation inter-cropping is a key option in most of the cotton growing countries. Mungbean is an important legume crop to be grown as inter crop with cotton to meet the situation. This book assessed growth and light utilization ability, yield advantages and monetary benefits, competitive ability of cotton and mungbean in inter-cropping system under different planting pattern and sowing dates. About the Author
Md. Fakhre Alam Ibne Tabib received PhD in Agronomy from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Bangladesh in 2013. His research mainly focused on cropping system. He worked as Deputy Director at Cotton Development Board, Ministry of Agriculture, Bangladesh and experienced in production, ginning and fibre quality of cotton.
