Print on Demand. This book presents an overview of proceedings from a 1966 conference convened to address water pollution in Puget Sound, focusing specifically on the impact of sulfite waste liquor from pulp and paper mills on the marine environment. The included presentations and discussions cover topics such as the effects of sulfite waste liquor on the primary productivity of the region's waters and on the survival of young salmon and steelhead trout. Overall, this book provides valuable insights into the complex relationship between industrial pollution and the health of marine ecosystems. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…

Temperature is only one of these factors. The light intensity at which the plants are grown also has the same sort of effect. The amount of carbon dioxide present, the amount of phosphate and nitrate also change this rate remarkably. Again I emphasize, unless these factors are carefully screened, it is very difficult to say anything about the maximum rate of photosynthesis.
