This book gathers selected high-quality research papers presented at the 2nd International Conference on Advanced Computing Applications (ICACA 2021), held virtually during 27––28 March 2021. Dr. J K Mandal is M.Tech. (Computer Science, University of Calcutta), Ph.D. (Engineering, Jadavpur University) in the field of Data Compression and Error Correction Techniques, Professor in Computer Science and Engineering, University of Kalyani, India. He is Former Dean Faculty of Engineering, Technology & Management 2008–2012 (two consecutive terms) and has 32 years of teaching and research experiences. He served as Professor, Computer Applications, Kalyani Government Engineering College for two years. He served as Associate and Assistant Professor at University of North Bengal for sixteen years. He is Life Member of Computer Society of India since 1992 and Life Member of Cryptology Research Society of India. He is Member of AIRCC. He is Honorary Chairman of CSI Kolkata Chapter 2016–17. He worked in the field of network security, steganography, remote sensing and GIS application, image processing, wireless and sensor networks. He is Domain Expert of Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya and Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya for planning and integration of public domain networks. He is Chief Editor of Advanced Computing: An International Journal, Associate Editor (Guest), Microsystem Technologies, Springer, Chief Editor, CSI Journal of Computing, Editor of Proceedings of ETCS 2012, NIDS-98 and ERC-95 of CSI. 23 scholars were awarded Ph.D. under his supervision, one submitted till January 2017, and 8 scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. degree. He has published five books from LAP―Lambert Academic Publishing, Germany, and one book from IGI Global publishers, Indexed by Thomson Reuters. Total number of publications are more than 400 including 180 publications in various international journals. He has edited fifteen volumes as a volume editor from Science Direct, Springer, CSI, etc., organizing various international conferences of Springer and Science Direct. He is Director of IQAC, University of Kalyani, and Chairman, Center for Information Resource Management (CIRM), Kalyani University. He has successfully executed five Research projects funded by AICTE, Ministry of IT Government of West Bengal. Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal, conferred him the “Siksha Ratna” Award in 2018.
Dr. Rajkumar Buyya is Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor and Director of the Cloud Computing and Distributed Systems (CLOUDS) Laboratory at the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is also serving as the founding CEO of Manjrasoft, a spin-off company of the university, commercializing its innovations in cloud computing. He has authored over 850 publications and seven textbooks including "Mastering Cloud Computing" published by McGraw Hill, China Machine Press, and Morgan Kaufmann for Indian, Chinese and international markets, respectively. He also edited several books including "Cloud Computing: Principles and Paradigms" (Wiley Press, USA, February 2011). He is recognized as a "Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher" for five consecutive years since 2016, IEEE Fellow, Scopus Researcher of the Year 2017 with Excellence in Innovative Research Award by Elsevier, and the "Best of the World," in Computing Systems field, by The Australian 2019 Research Review. Software technologies for Grid and Cloud computing developed under his leadership have gained rapid acceptance and are in use at several academic institutions and commercial enterprises in 50 countries around the world. He is currently serving as Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Software: Practice and Experience, which was established 50 years ago.
Prof. Debashis De earned his M.Tech. from the University of Calcutta in 2002 and his Ph.D. (Engineering) from Jadavpur University in 2005. He is Professor and Director in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the West Bengal University of Technology, India, and Adjunct Research Fellow at the University of Western Australia, Australia. He is Senior Member of IEEE, and Life Member of CSI and Member of the International Union of Radio Science. He worked as R&D Engineer for Telektronics and Programmer at Cognizant Technology Solutions. He was awarded the prestigious BOYSCAST Fellowship by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, to work at the Heriot-Watt University, Scotland, UK. He received the Endeavour Fellowship Award during 2008–2009 by DEST Australia to work at the University of Western Australia. He received the Young Scientist award both in 2005 at New Delhi and in 2011 at Istanbul, Turkey, from the International Union of Radio Science, Head Quarter, Belgium. His research interests include mobile cloud computing, green mobile networks. He has published in more than 250 peer-reviewed international journals in IEEE, IET, Elsevier, Springer, World Scientific, Wiley, IETE, Taylor Francis and ASP, 100 International conference papers, six researches monographs in springer, CRC, NOVA and ten text books published by Pearson education. He is Associate Editor of journal IEEE ACCESS, Editor Hybrid computational intelligence, Journal Array, Elsevier.
