He was hired to make her disappear as a problem.
Cormac Shade is the man powerful people call when a situation needs to be handled quietly. No headlines. No bodies. No loose ends. When he is sent to recover a forensic audit from Nora Quinn, he expects a careful accountant with dangerous information and nowhere to run.
He finds a woman waiting in the dark.
Nora Quinn has spent months following a trail of dirty money through pension funds, shell companies, institutional silence, and one death no one was supposed to question. She knows exactly why Cormac has come to her door. She also knows the file he wants is no longer the real problem.
She is.
What begins as a mission becomes a negotiation. What becomes a negotiation turns into trust. And what turns into trust becomes something neither of them can afford, because the closer Cormac gets to Nora, the clearer one thing becomes: the people who hired him do not just want the evidence buried.
They want the truth stopped before it reaches the man at the top.
Now Cormac must choose between the work that made him and the woman who sees through every careful lie he has ever lived behind.
And Nora must decide whether the man sent to stop her might be the only one dangerous enough to stand beside her.
Problem Girl is Book One in The Fixer series, a dark romantic suspense thriller with a morally grey fixer, a brilliant heroine, financial crime, forced proximity, slow-burn tension, and a dangerous alliance that changes everything.
