Rare original 1812 leather bound copy of Samuel Freeman's "The Probate Directory: Or, An Assistant to Probate Courts, Executors, Administrators, and Guardians. Being the Laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Respecting the Estate of Testators, Intestates, and Wards. To which are Added, a Variety of Forms, for the Use of Probate Courts, and Such Persons as May Have Business to Transact Therein. Together with a Comprehensive Alphabetical Index to the Laws and the Forms." The book is overall in very good condition with some minor signs of wear and age. The covers have some mild scuffing and wear. There are a few inches of cracking the back outer leather joint, but the binding is still good and sound. The interior is toned from age with some occasional foxing and grubbiness. A couple of leaves or so have a minor marginal chip or tear which does not affect any text. A few leaves have some creased page corners. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection, such as a minor stain or marking, etc. The book measures approximately 6 7/8 inches by 4 1/4 inches and is 264 pages long. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
