David went to work for the State of Kansas, the department of epidemiology, working with those diagnosed with venereal disease, and later transferred into a regulatory branch, inspecting hospitals and nursing homes for state licensure and Title XIX compliance for federal grants. After completing his BA in Social Work from Kansas State University, David went on to finish his master's degree from Wichita State University in guidance and counseling.
