Principles of Physical Geology by Arthur Holmes, D.Sc, LL.D, F.R.S. This is the Second Edition, completely revised and published in 1965. This edition was reprinted in 1972 by Nelson. This is a classic text which has profoundly influenced the thinking and training of geologists throughout the world. The second edition was virtually a new book when expanded and rewritten by Professor Holmes in 1965. The book is crammed with diagrams and photographs and the information contained within is as valid today as it was when first published in 1944. Professor Holmes was one of the worlds greatest geologists. He died in 1965.
