Very Good in brown decorative leather, with gilt lettering and decorative gilt borders; decorative green pastedowns and endpapers. A blank prelim. leaf has been removed. Previous owner's notation in ink; scattered foxing to last few pages; very light rubbing to edges of covers. Inscription on front (blank) endpaper states 'John Wainwright, Ironside, Derbyshire, 1997 (born Dec., 1879); then in a different hand, 'This book belonged to Thomas Smith (born 1800?) - grandfather to J.
