About the Author: Mitchell Cohen is professor of Political Science at Baruch College and the Graduate School of City University of New York and coeditor of Disent magazine. He is the author of The Wager of Lucien Goldmann (Princeton) and of Zion and State. Nicole Fermon is Associate Professor of Political Science at Fordham University and the author of the forthcoming The Political Education of Sentiment: Rousseau's Teaching on Women and the State.
