Princess Maeve Hawthorne has spent fifteen years listening to a song that should have belonged to the past.
Since the mysterious death of her mother, Queen Serena, Maeve has kept a small star-silver music box known as the Harmonic Reliquary. Every night, it plays the same ancient lullaby in her mother's unmistakable voice-a perfect recording that has comforted Maeve throughout her childhood. But on the night of her nineteenth birthday, the song changes.
The final note refuses to fade. The silver box turns cold and blue, the palace foundations begin to tremble, and the familiar lullaby transforms into a desperate, living signal. Maeve's extraordinary sensitivity to sound allows her to hear what everyone else ignores: the mysterious music from the box is answering a vast resonance buried beneath the kingdom.
With the help of Finnian Hart, a loyal royal guardsman, Maeve follows the impossible melody beneath the sunlit terraces of Sol-Hawthorne. There she discovers a truth her father, King Elias, has spent fifteen years trying to bury.
Queen Serena is not dead.
She is alive beneath the palace, trapped in an ancient subterranean structure and connected to the very forces threatening to tear the kingdom apart. The peaceful, brilliant kingdom Maeve has always known was built upon a terrible secret, and the silence imposed by her father was never simply an act of mourning. It was an attempt to contain an ancient catastrophe and protect the world above from the consequences of what lies beneath.
As Maeve descends into the forbidden depths, she encounters forgotten chambers, dangerous crystalline forces, ancient machinery, and people who have suffered beneath the kingdom's carefully maintained peace. She must confront not only the physical dangers of the underground world but also the painful truth about her parents and the sacrifices made in the name of protecting Sol-Hawthorne.
The singing box becomes more than a relic of a lost mother. It becomes a bridge between worlds, a message carried through stone, and the key to breaking the prison that has held Serena for years.
Maeve must choose whether to preserve the silence that has protected her kingdom or expose the truth and risk everything she has ever known. With courage, loyalty, and an extraordinary connection to the language of sound, she discovers that some secrets cannot remain buried forever.
The Princess and the Singing Box is a richly atmospheric fantasy about a young princess uncovering a hidden kingdom beneath her own, a daughter's search for her lost mother, and the power of truth to break a fifteen-year silence. At its heart is a story of family, courage, sacrifice, reconciliation, and the discovery that the song you thought was a memory may actually be a call for help.
