Gilbert and Sullivan's remarkable 1884 opera that satirizes feminism, women's education and Darwinian evolution, which were controversial topics in conservative Victorian England. A veritable "battle of the sexes" ensues after the Princess establishes a feminist women's university. 138 pages. CONDITION: This antique score is in remarkable, Very Good condition - securely bound and unmarked, its covers age-tanned and with moderate shelf-wear, including a couple outer-corner near-creases. The interior pages are in Fine condition, near-pristine. I've nestled this treasure in a clear, protective polypropylene bag with archival backing board, for safe storage and transport.
