Written for Readers 9 and up>A handsome prince, a powerful magic ring and a shrewd sorceress form a triangle of suspense and drama. Readers will travel back in time to a magnificent African kingdom of long, long ago. Two strangers are welcomed into the heart of this beautiful kingdom. The queen senses danger. When the prince suddenly disappears, turmoil follows. In a cruel twist of fate, the further the prince travels away from the kingdom the safer it becomes. The prince will find himself in a faraway land, trapped behind a cave wall, caught in a spell of shifting grayness and gloom. Timberance, born in America in the late 1800's, is a sensitive and beautiful African-American maiden. Ridiculed and teased because of someone's jealousy, Timberance leads a painfully lonely life. Her only escape is found through books and exploring an old woman's mansion that is filled with antique curios, hidden doors and secret passageways. After school, on a dreary and cold autumn day, Timberance enters a cave many believe is haunted. She will find something more chilling than a ghost or the blustery autumn wind when she stumbles upon a frightening secret that was meant to remain hidden in stone forever. Enchantments, fairy magic and a cruel curse prove no match against the fulfillment of human compassion, heart-felt laughter and true friendship in the captivating and wondrous story of The Prince & Timberance._________________________________The Prince & Timberance is a steppingstone into the realm of the imagination where dreams begin. Readers will find comfort as good triumphs over evil and reward comes to those who persevere in the face of cruelty and hardship.…
