From the Inside Flap
Cleve Backster's discoveries have creeated the new scientific paradigm. The understanding of the paradigm is crucial if we are to heal ourselves and our planet. I'm personally grateful and indebted to Cleve for leading the way. Someday all of humanity will acknowledge their gratitude to this great pioneer." -- Deepak Chopra, Author of How to Know God
In addition to having been a professional observer of human psychophysiological tracings since 1948, starting in 1966 and continuing to date, Cleve Backster has conducted extensive research related to observed electrical responses in plant life and at a cellular level in other living organisms. His research into what has been called "The Backster Effect" has attracted world-wide attention. His work was featured in the bestselling book, The Secret Life of Plants, by Peter Tompkins and Christopher Bird, and another book The Secret Life of Your Cells, by Robert Stone. Primary Perception is the only book by Cleve Backster about his work.
Backster currently lives in San Diego and teaches at the Backster School of Lie Detection. Cleve is the founder of the Backster Research Foundation and an international speaker on the subject of biocommunication. He is on the teaching faculty at the California Institute for Human Science and serves on the advisory board at the Institute of HeartMath.
