Print on Demand. This thought-provoking book examines the principles and practices of nonjurors, a group that rejected the authority of the post-Revolution authorities in Britain during the late 17th century. The author delves into the historical context, exploring the reasons behind the nonjurors' refusal to swear allegiance to the new Protestant monarchy. The book analyzes the theological and political arguments put forward by the nonjurors, shedding light on their claims of religious persecution and their defense of traditional ecclesiastical authority. The author also examines the legal basis for the deprivation of nonjuring bishops by the state, as well as the broader implications for church-state relations and the nature of religious freedom. This book contributes to our understanding of a pivotal moment in British history and provides valuable insights into the complex relationship between religion, politics, and society in the early modern era. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
