Preparing for a Baby is the only practical guide expecting parents need to prepare themselves and their home for a baby.
This no-nonsense, step-by-step guide is aimed at first-time moms who want to feel prepared without being overwhelmed. Based on her own experiences as a mother of two, and supported by extensive research, the author focuses on what is actually useful to do and think of ahead of having a baby.
The easily digestible book follows a month-by-month structure, from early pregnancy to the final weeks before birth, so readers always know what to focus attention on right now. Each chapter focuses on three key areas: mind, body, and practical preparation.
Inside, you'll find guidance on:
- Preparing mentally and emotionally for pregnancy, birth, and parenthood
- Supporting your body through the physical changes of pregnancy
- What baby items are genuinely useful to have ready, and what can wait
- Planning your home, nursery and sleep setup
Preparing for a Baby is not an exhaustive pregnancy manual (there are plenty of those on the market!). In this approachable book, readers will find:
- Focused checklists and suggested timelines
- Anecdotes and personal reflections from the author's own pregnancies
- Non-judgmental guidance around feeding and birth, and how to prepare for all of it
- The author's own birth story, as an illustrative example of what birth may look like
To support baby prep, readers are invited to download a free printable checklist, making it easy to personalize plans and move through everything at their own pace. This makes the book especially helpful for those who appreciate a visual and hands-on approach to getting ready for parenthood.
The book is ideal for someone who:
- Is pregnant with their first child
- Is looking for a thoughtful, practical pregnancy gift
- Wants guidance without information overload
- Prefers structure, clarity, and flexibility
- Wants to step into parenthood feeling confident and ready
If you're pregnant for the first time — or supporting someone who is — Preparing for a Baby is the ideal place to start. It's the perfect thoughtful and useful gift for a friend, partner, daughter or sister who has just found out they're pregnant and may not know where to begin.
