About the Author

Ray H. Abrams (1896-1983) was Associate Professor Emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania where he taught sociology for thirty-seven years. He came from a long line of Baptist ancestors on both sides of his family and served as a Protestant minister before teaching sociology.
