Bookshelves are filled with legions of offerings on home improvement, cooking, stress management, and even brewing beer. But how often do you see a DIY guide to prayer?
In Prayer: A Strategy Based on the Teaching of Jesus, Dr. Bob Beltz gives readers exactly that. Drawing on over forty years of experience in ministry, he provides a step-by-step guide to incorporating the Lord’s Prayer into your daily prayer life. Beltz takes this powerful prayer of Jesus and transforms it from a rote recitation to an in-depth guide to following the savior’s teachings and building your faith.
Beltz treats the Lord’s Prayer as an outline for living the ideal Christian life. He breaks it down into its seven main components and dedicates chapters to bringing those segments alive. At the end of each chapter, he gives the reader assignments—concrete ideas on how to make the words of the prayer a vital part of your life. He is an advocate for keeping a prayer notebook and provides the reader with tools to create their own.
Using a concrete and workable strategy, Dr. Beltz has brought the true teachings of the Lord’s Prayer closer to the hearts of believers everywhere."Synopsis" may belong to another edition of this title.
