About this Item
12 mo. pp. [4], xi, 259, [25 (Table)]. Bound in contemporary calf over boards, dark red titling label on spine. Both boards are a little bowed, else very good with light foxing to the endpapers. "Tidd's Law" won critical and popular acclaim soon after its publication in 1790, and was for a time the sole authority for common-law practice. In *David Copperfield*, Charles Dickens favored Tidd by the approbation of Uriah Heep, "I am improving my legal knowledge, Master Copperfield,' said Uriah. â I am going through Tidd's "Practice." Oh, what a writer Mr. Tidd is, Master Copperfield!" (David Copperfield, chap. 12). Scarce in the trade. *OCLC* locates only 4 copies. Seller Inventory # 343591
