Item description from seller

This 1668 legal work by Andreas Gaill, printed in Cologne by Joannem Busaeum, marks the first structured record of judicial decisions from the Reichskammergericht. Gaill's book laid groundwork for later legal collections throughout the German territories and remains a primary point of reference in early modern legal studies. The two-part volume includes extensive material on imperial bans and the concept of public peace, in addition to its procedural law content. Bound in its original vellum, this quarto-format edition includes [16], 226 [i.e. 626], 272, [128] pages. The volume is complete and solidly preserved. Condition: Good. The vellum shows wear to the spine and corners, with moderate toning throughout. The binding remains secure. #29321. PHOTOS AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.
