No date 1879 taken from preface and ownership inscription, first edition. 319 pp viii index + xii pictorial adverts also advert end papers.Numerouse text illustrations circa 300 throughout. Some foxing to title page, ownership inscription to front paste down for 1879. Contents clean and tight. Contemporary half tan calf 6 raised bands to spine with gilt ruling, even fading to spine the binding clean and tight with no splits or chipping.
