Halston; and an Ostler and Flaxdresser, Philip & Simon Yorke of Erthig et al, owner in ink to the verso of the frontispiece 'Thomas Maurice Jones/Hargrave/January 1870, Hargrave and Wynnstay are approximately 20 miles apart with Wrexham on the route. Bound in full contemporary polished calf, spine with red leather label with blindstamped title, worn, rubbed & corners bumped, hinges splitting, however sound & tight with prelims litthe grubby, otherwise very good. WITH, inserted, Almanack manuscript written in ink for 1847, (anonymous), 12mo. (159x99mm), Calendar printed to inside wraps for 1847 (date has been erased) 16pp legible manuscript text of Receipts for various horse ailments commencing with 'For a Constitution Ball.-This is a Good Cough Ball', and continuing with 'A Drink for the Gripes or Windy Colic.' et al, dated at end February the 12th 1847, stitched into marbled paper wraps, worn & marked however contents very legible & very good.
