Paperback. This book sets out a theory of what practical reasoning is and how it bears on the explanation and rationality of human actions. The history of the problem is explored through the writings of Aristotle, Hume and Kant. Against this background, Audi develops his own account of practical reasoning as an inferential process that is like theoretical reasoning in important respects but more intimately related to action. he uses the account to clairfy problems in the philosophy of mind, such as the nature of intention, belief and inference, and topics in ethics, including moral responsibility, self-deception and weakness of will. This book will interest readers concerned with ethics and the philosophy of mind, as well as those interested in the nature of human action. 214 pp. (We carry a wide selection of titles in The Arts, Theology, History, Politics, Social and Physical Sciences. academic and scholarly books and Modern First Editions ,and all types of Academic Literature.).
