About the Author:
Mr. Lyon (BSEE-University of Hartford) worked in industry (GE, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and United Technologies) for thirty-nine years as the Lead Configuration Management (CM)/Project Engineer responsible for major tasks on the Lunar Lander and Mars Viking spacecrafts, CH53E helicopter, and Trident submarine guidance and fire control programs. His CM processes enabled the implementation of Product Data Management (PDM)/Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems in both large corporations and small businesses. He developed the ‘four state level of control system model’, a powerful methodology for integrating CM with proposal development, contract negotiation, engineering development, test, manufacturing, production, quality assurance, IT, and product support activities. He was the author of the original ‘Practical CM’ textbook, plus 'Transparent CM', and 'Practical Project' as well as 'Practical CM II' and 'Practical CM III.'
