See photos for condition details. Hardcover, full bound leather. Most of the spine is missing and the leather is very darkened along the edges, almost like the book was too close to a heat source. Hinges are weak at front and rear boards and are basically held on by the binder's string but all text pages are secure. Front pastedown shows original owner signature (Wallis J. Guthrie ?) and front pastedown the shows a stamp in the corner as well as an old price penciled in place. Text pages are toned due to age and some minor foxing is present. Page 53 has a pen mark on both sides of a sentence. No other handwriting noted. This is the original 1870 publication, not a reprint.
