Item description from seller

Very Good Hardback, wear to board edges, short tear in cloth at base of spine (not affecting integrity of binding), pages are age-toned. Clean and unmarked apart from light pencil underlining affecting two pages and red ink sidelining on one page. James Carter issued their first seed catalogues in 1837 and traded from premises in High Holborn, by the later decades of the 19th century becoming one of the leading seeds companies, with a Royal Appointment. Such catalogues are rarely seen for sale and this is a particularly pleasing example. 137 pp Original paper catalogue in contemporary green cloth binding (quarto size) with gilt title on spine. Profusely illustrated. The picture on this listing page is of the actual book for sale.
