Blind stamped and gilt leather binding, very attractive in a modest but attractive binding. Vol. I xi, 284pp; Vol. II vi, 304pp. Approximately 8 ¾ inches tall. Condition Report Externally Spine good condition gilt titles, 5 raised bands, 6 compartments with gilt decoration and blind tooled detailing. Joints good condition, Corners good condition gently bumped and worn. Boards good condition attractive full maroon leather boards with gilt decoration and blind tooled details, there is a black mark across the front board of Vol. II. Page edges good condition all gilt. See above and photos. Internally Hinges good condition sound. Paste downs good condition plain with gilt dentelles, the bookbinders name is printed along the top edge of the front paste down. End papers good condition plain. Title good condition half title page The Bridgewater Treaties in each volume, main title page has an 'Aldine' anchor illustration to the centre, lightly tanned with some minor foxing. Pages good condition tanned and minor foxing to both, Vol. II has some pages with marks in the margins, tanned throughout with some foxing. Binding good condition. See photos Publisher: see above.
