Paperback. Paula Moreno's work inspires and exemplifies how far women of color have come and how far they still have to go in capturing the equality, recognition, and thed opportunities they deserve in our world today. In The Power of the Invisible, Paula Moreno tells us how a twenty-eight-year-old Black woman rose to become Colombias Minister of Culture, an unprecedented event in the history of the country, and how in doing so she achieved two milestones: she became the youngest person to ever hold that position, and she became the first Afro-Colombian woman ever to hold any ministerial office in the Colombian government. In addition to her appointment and time in the ministry, Moreno recounts her family origins and professional career.
