About the Author
Ahteshamul Haque is a Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), New Delhi, India. He has established a state of the art Advanced Power Electronics Research Laboratory at JMI. He has established an Advance Power Electronics Research Lab at Jamia Millia Islamia, where their research investigates technologies including a solar-based energy conversion system, embedded system control of power electronics converters, and an electric control system for artificial lighting. Prior to his PhD at Jamia Millia Islamia, he worked in the Power Electronics R&D units of world-reputed multi-national companies. His inventions are patented in both the USA and Europe.
Frede Blaabjerg's current research interests include power electronics and its applications, such as in wind turbines, PV systems, reliability, Power-2-X, power quality, and adjustable speed drives. He has published more than 900 journal papers in the fields of power electronics and its applications. He is the co-author of ten monographs and editor of twenty books in power electronics and its applications eg. the series (4 volumes) Control of Power Electronic Converters and Systems published by Academic Press/Elsevier.
Huai Wang is currently an Associate Professor and a Research Thrust Leader with the Centre of Reliable Power Electronics (CORPE), Aalborg University, Denmark. He was a Visiting Scientist with the ETH Zurich, Switzerland, from Aug. to Sep. 2014, and with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA, from September to November 2013. In 2009, he was with the ABB Corporate Research Centre, Switzerland. He has contributed a few concept papers in the field of power electronics reliability, holds two patents and filed five patents on advanced passive component concepts, and co-edited a book. His research interests include the fundamental challenges in modeling and validation of power electronic component failure mechanisms, and application issues in system-level predictability, condition monitoring, circuit architecture, and robustness design. Dr. Wang was the recipient of the Richard M. Bass Outstanding Young Power Electronics Engineer Award from the IEEE Power Electronics Society in 2016, and the Green Talents Award from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research in 2014. He is currently the Award Chair of the Technical Committee of the High Performance and Emerging Technologies, IEEE Power Electronics Society.
Varaha Satya Bharath Kurukuru is currently a Scientist in the Power Electronics Research Division of Silicon Austria Labs GmbH, Austria. Prior to this he served as a visiting researcher at the Center of Reliable Power Electronics, Aalborg University, Denmark (2019), and completed his Ph.D. degree in Intelligent Monitoring of Solar Photovoltaic Systems at the Advance Power Electronics Research Laboratory of Jamia Millia Islamia, India (2021). His research focuses on thermal characterization of packaged power devices, condition monitoring, and the reliability of power electronic converters in renewable energy systems and electric vehicles.
