A 12-year-old girl with hidden powers, a winged horse, and a magical cat must battle a vengeful wizard for the survival of their world.
Author Sharon A Roe, teacher, poet, memoirist, and novelist, has a long and varied career focused on the education and nurturing of children, the creation and enjoyment of writing in its various forms, and programs for the gifted and talented. She taught in high school, middle school and elementary school.
During these years she earned her MALS-Creative Writing degree from Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. The common thread throughout her life is sharing the magic of the written word with children and young people, a quality that is theirs to enjoy as both readers and writers. Her work displays her faith in children and the value of learning. It is vibrant with a sense of wonder, imagination, and fantasy.
The Power Awakens, her second novel, is the next book in The Key Trilogy, and continues the adventures started in The Key of Idelisia. These stories feature a young girl who confronts daunting obstacles as she searches for her true purpose in life. During her epic journey, she discovers true friends and gradually realizes the hidden power she possesses.
Sharon A. Roe lives with her husband of 57 years, her son and daughter-in-law, and her two teenage granddaughters in a delightful multigenerational home .
Onnee Roe is a Middle School student artist with aspirations to great things. One of her favorite activities is drawing which she's been doing since she was tiny. Her current sketch book (blue) is so well-loved it has to be held together with several layers of tape. She's particularly good at inventing costumes and making them from recycled materials, like cardboard and second- or third-hand clothing. Her other loves include gaming, especially Minecraft, working with Legos, origami, and crochet. Although she can't have her own (too many allergies in her family), she loves dogs and cats and has a special ability to work with them. This probably accounts for her large collection of Squishmallows (four and counting). She's especially good at goofing around, inventing funny words, singing silly songs, and just plain being funny. Most of all she loves her sister so much.
Oh, and when she grows up she just might be a circus star!
Elspeth Roe is a High School student, artist and singer. She has been drawing since she could hold a crayon. (Her best drawings were "potato people that were ovals with limbs and hair.) She paints with acrylics now. Her interests are wide-ranging in part because she loves to learn. Among her current favorites are singing in choir, science, learning French, debate, neurology and brain science, and child psychology (except the first-hand experience of caring for a "baby" that cried and fussed and kept her awake all night long!). She also loves any opportunity to learn about and participate in other cultures. When she's older, she hopes to go to college in California or New York, travel overseas to places like Greece and Rome, and become a neurologist. She also loves fashion and thrifting, karate, and watching shows like "Supernatural" (fifteen seasons so far with a sixteenth in the making!), and "Hunger Games," the movies and series. She too loves her sister so much and can often be heard spontaneously breaking into song with her as they chill out at home. Oh, and making others laugh is one of her best things.
