Item description from seller

C/O POSTMASTER CORPORAL T.R. ST. GEORGE 1944 WWII STORY OF YANKS TO AUSTRALIA. Having just listed a book with the work of Bill Mauldin, I was pleased to find another of a similar genre the wry humor of soldiers at war. This one was written by a young soldier/author of a group of young recruits who ship out to Australia in 1942. Please find then: C/O Postmaster, by Corporal Thomas R. St. George, an amusing tale illustrated with his own cartoons and drawings. This small hard cover book (5 ¾ x 8 inches, 194 pages) was published by the Garden City Publishing Company of Garden City, New York, dated 1944. The book is bound in tan boards with brown decorations on the cover (a group of young soldiers in a bus) and brown titles on the spine; it is protected by a printed paper dust jacket. Each of the chapters is illustrated with some cartoons or drawings by the Author (please see the photos). Condition: This book is in very good condition. There is some edge wear to the dust jacket, including a few minor tears and chips. The hard covers are perhaps a bit dust-dulled but clean and really unblemished. There is a misfold to the front cover but this is something that happened during printing. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and drawings are bright and clean throughout. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
