Print on Demand. This book tells the story behind the creation of the penny postage stamp in Britain. It provides an in-depth look at the historical context and motivations behind the reform, including the economic and social factors that contributed to its necessity. The book explores the complexities of implementing the new system, from the technical challenges of printing and distributing the stamps to the need to educate the public on their use. Through extensive research, the author sheds light on the key figures involved in the process, including Rowland Hill, the driving force behind the penny postage movement, and Samuel Forrester, a lesser-known but instrumental figure whose proposal laid the groundwork for the successful implementation of the stamp. Ultimately, this book offers a comprehensive understanding of the significance of the penny postage stamp, not only as a postal innovation but also as a catalyst for social and economic change. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book.…
