Chapter One
1 Tip of the Day* * *
"Release the idea today of having a `perfect' reputation!"
Worrying about how the world sees you adds stress and anxiety to your life. Focusing on perfection blocks you from being who you are at your core. Adopt this mantra today: `What you think of me is none of my business!' Say it over and over, day in and day out! Believe this statement and you free yourself from the need to prove your worthiness. Know that the only opinion regarding you that counts is your own.
Eliminate the need to have a perfect reputation today.
2 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Be open to being less controlling today!"
Select one person, situation or outcome in your life that you are attempting to manipulate and let them or it go. Commit to this for 24 hours. Just one day! Tomorrow see if you awaken less drained, more energized, relaxed and even at peace.
Let go of being controlling today and begin the process of trusting that all is well in your world.
3 Tip of the Day
* * *
"To have a winning life today you must first stop whining!"
Being a victim prevents you from moving forward and living a happy, fulfilled life. When you blame and complain you give your power away to people, events and circumstances. That is called self-disempowerment. Reverse the process and become empowered.
Take responsibility today and begin the process of winning in the game of life.
4 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Believe in others today even if they do not believe in themselves!"
At one time in your life you may have had someone who believed in you even when you may have been `down and out.' Can you recall how uplifting it was to have a cheering squad move you forward? Inspire someone today to take one action step in their life that creates positive change. Stand by them. Hold their hand if you have to. Be a coach or guide for them so they can begin to awaken to their greatness.
Empower someone by believing in them today.
5 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Stop trying to `fix' and `save' people today!"
Despite what you may think, these are exhausting processes that will always be less than satisfying. In fact, they are more likely to create frustration and stress in your life. We are all on a life journey that has some significant purpose. Within each purpose is the Lesson to be received. `Fixing' and `saving' is about the need to control. This interferes with the Life learning process of another person. It's like taking an exam for someone else: in the end no one gains the wisdom required to be truly happy.
Eliminate the need to fix and save from your life today. 6 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Choose wisely what you give to the world today!"
The world is like a gigantic mirror. It reflects back to you exactly what you give. Giving is not only material things. Your thoughts, words, emotions and actions are all forms of `giving.' They will determine the results you receive in your life. What you give out dynamically you will attract magnetically.
Focus on giving what you want to receive today.
7 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Take money out of the equation that is your life situation today!"
When money is the main reason for living, your power is given away. Money and the abundance or lack of it, is an end result of an exchange of energy through service. Put service first and you live authentically at the level of cause. Living at the `level of cause' means you are empowered to create the reality that you want for your life! Ironically, then, more money will appear in your life.
In the equation of your life situation today, put service first and watch money appear.
8 Tip of the Day
* * *
"The people in your life today are part of your life's classroom curriculum!"
Life never gives you what you cannot handle and that includes people. People show up in your life for a reason, never by chance. They all have a purpose that can, with your permission, assist you to grow. The relationships you share with them are part of the journey to achieving inner peace.
Bless everyone in your life today.
9 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Who is living in your head today?"
Is it happiness, gratitude, appreciation and joy? Or is it anger, resentment, frustration and apathy? Your mind is a piece of real estate that you own and are responsible for maintaining. You are also responsible for who you allow in as tenants. If you do not like who is living in your head give them an eviction notice.
Take inventory of who is living in your head today.
10 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Give up being afraid of being happy today!"
As insane as this may sound it is valid and true for most people. Happiness appears to be this elusive state of being that we search to find. The truth is happiness is avoided because to genuinely be happy would contradict a life that is perceived as a struggle, full of strife and challenges.
Examine your relationship with happiness today and ask why you may actually fear it.
11 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Beginning today, view so-called `setbacks' as growth spurts in disguise!"
In life we encounter people, situations and events that on the surface appear to be setbacks. Life happens! It is what it is; however, your response to the everyday experience determines how you view people and circumstances. Setbacks are guideposts and opportunities to view life differently.
Change your perspective today by viewing setbacks as growth spurts.
12 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Realize today that anger is a symptom of the need to judge!"
All anger is a symptom of the addiction to be judgmental. Judging is used to make ourselves feel and look better. It is rooted in the false belief that `if I make others appear small and inadequate I will feel and appear big and special.' The flaw in this thinking is you must always seek a source of anger. How emotionally exhausting is that?
Stop judging today and watch your anger subside.
13 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Enjoy your life today!"
No amount of success will create happiness, joy and peace in your life if you dislike the process. Decide what `fun' is for you! Identify your values and passions. Welcome them as conditions for living your life from the `inside-out.' When you set an intention that contains a component of joy, you will experience fulfillment.
Commit to having fun by being joyful today.
14 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Notice how you are feeling today!"
Feelings are the fuel that feed your creative abilities. How you feel is critical to the process of achieving your goals. You want to feel good ... it is that simple! Consciously create positive feelings like happiness, gratitude, appreciation and excitement. Pay close attention to the overall nature of how you are feeling now. This determines the level of fullness and quality of the life you are living.
Notice the status of how you are feeling today.
15 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Stop worrying about whether or not people like you!"
You are not a child anymore. Stop participating in popularity contests. Switch gears and begin to focus on receiving respect from others. The quickest way to receive respect is to first give it to you. When you respect yourself people energetically feel the value you place upon yourself. The result is that they will respond in kind by respecting you.
Respect who you are today.
16 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Choose happiness today!"
Happiness is not, as most believe, some destination, relationship or situation to strive to get so we can feel complete, whole and wanted. Happiness is simply this: a choice we make about how we feel in any given moment. It's an `inside job,' so choose wisely.
You are one thought, one decision away from being happy today.
17 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Eliminate stress from your life today!"
How many times a day do you say: "I'm so stressed!"? Do you really know what that means when you exclaim that statement? By stating out loud or even silently thinking that you are stressed creates a continuous focus on and an attachment to future events and situations. The solution: be present and mindful about what you are doing right here and now.
By giving one hundred percent to this moment you have begun the process of stress elimination in your life today.
18 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Open the door today because opportunity is knocking!"
Do you believe great opportunities come around once in a while or even once in a lifetime? The truth is opportunity is a function of who you are as a creative being. To make the most of opportunities means you awaken and see each encounter and experience as a chance to create and collaborate with others.
Open the door today and welcome opportunity into your life.
19 Tip of the Day
* * *
"Realize today that there is no such thing as failure ... only feedback!"
Life always gives you feedback. This is how we learn to create results that we desire. We receive the same undesirable results time and time again when we choose to ignore the feedback Life gives to us.
Create new results in your life by observing and acknowledging the feedback you receive today.
20 Tip of the Day
* * *
"The people in your life today will do what you do, not what you say!"
Those you have influence over: your children, staff at work, employees, will do what you do or not do what you are not willing to do. When you want others to take action or create changes be willing to `walk the talk' otherwise, you will find yourself challenged and frustrated.
`Walk your talk' today and see your world change.

Store description
We first started out as “The Paperback Exchange,” a chain of physical bookstores where we would part exchange your beloved books for new stories to transport you to faraway places. However, as shopping started to evolve to online shops and marketplaces, we bid our stores goodbye to become “PBShop.” This transition has only allowed us to blossom as we now ship thousands of titles to book lovers across the globe. We pride ourselves in being a community of local book lovers which allows our passion and devotion to shine in everything we do. In 2020 we not only celebrated our 20th birthday but our 1st birthday as being completely employee owned after becoming an E.O.T in September 2019. We are proud to be different and embrace standing apart on a book mountain by working from a virtual inventory which allows us to provide thousands of books that may be difficult to get for your bookshelf or your studies. Working with a number of different suppliers allows us to explore other avenues such as puzzles, sheet music and even stationery so we really do have something for everyone. Life is about being versatile in all realms of existence. If this is your first visit or you are a returning customer, we would like to welcome you to the PBShop family, for there is no friend as loyal as a book. We are a company who put our customers at the centre of everything we do as we understand the importance of reading because once you learn to read, you will forever be free. There are a whole lot of things in this world of ours that we are yet to explore, which is why we will forever inspire curious minds.…
