Dezember 2008 in New York City) war eine US-amerikanische Sängerin und Schauspielerin. Man nannte sie die Königin der Nachtclubs. 1951 stellte in Paris die Besitzerin des Nachtclubs Carrols sie ihren prominenten Gästen aus Politik, Wirtschaft und Kultur vor. Die Künstlerin kehrte nach New York zurück, und Orson Welles engagierte sie für die Doppelrolle "Gretchen/schöne Helena" in seiner eigenwilligen Faust-Verfilmung. Ihren endgültigen Durchbruch hatte Eartha Kitt in der Broadway-Show New Faces Of 1952, in der sie den Song Monotonous sang. 1954/55 spielte sie am Broadway die Hauptrolle in Mrs. Patterson, 1957 in Shinbone Alley und in den 1960ern in The Owl and the Pussycat. Daneben trat sie auch in Filmen und im Fernsehen auf, u. a. 1958 in St. Louis Blues und in den Fernsehserien Batman als Nachfolgerin von Julie Newmar in der Rolle der Catwoman sowie 1967 in einer Gastrolle in Mission Impossible. 1992 war sie in einer Nebenrolle in der US-amerikanischen Komödie Boomerang zu sehen und 1996 hatte sie einen Cameo-Auftritt in einer Folge der Sitcom Die Nanny. Nach kritischen Äußerungen gegen den Vietnamkrieg bei einem Lunch im Weißen Haus 1968 wurde sie von den Amerikanern gemieden und konnte sich erst Jahrzehnte später wieder erfolgreich im US-Showgeschäft behaupten. Der Boykott ihrer Stücke durch die amerikanischen Sender führte dazu, dass sie sich stärker nach Europa orientierte. Dieser Boykott endete 1978 mit der Rehabilitation durch Jimmy Carter.

Statutory Right to cancel
You have the right to cancel this contract within 14 days without giving any reason.
The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from the day on which you acquire, or a third party other than the carrier and indicated by you acquires, physical possession of the the last good or the last lot or piece.
To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us, ANTIQUARIAT H. If you use this option, we will communicate to you an acknowledgement of receipt of such a cancellation on a durable medium (e.g. by e-mail) without delay.

Effects of cancellation
If you cancel this contract, we will reimburse to you all payments received from you, including the costs of delivery (except for the supplementary costs arising if you chose a type of delivery other than the least expensive type of standard delivery offered by us).
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you.

We will make the reimbursement using the same means of payment as you used for the initial transaction, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise; in any event, you will not incur any fees as a result of such reimbursement.

You are only liable for any diminished value of the goods resulting from the handling other than what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.
