In 1980 the Newaygo County Historical Society published this facsimile reprint of the original 1884 edition published by Chapman Brothers of Chicago. It contains historical information on all aspects of the county's development (to 1884) as well as biographies of numerous county residents (many have portratits included). Contains front and rear end paper maps of the county. Of special interest is the extensive name index in the rear. Original publisher's red cloth binding with gilt spine and cover lettering and illustration. This is a nice clean, tight and unmarked book with the exception of a previous owner's blindstamp on the front end paper as well as his small name stamp on both the front and rear end papers. This is an important resource for Newaygo County history not often encountered. No dust jacket, as issued. ; B&W Illustrations; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 652 pages.
