About the Author: Andrew Woolford is a professor of sociology and criminology at the University of Manitoba and the author of “This Benevolent Experiment”: Indigenous Boarding Schools, Genocide and Redress in the United States and Canada. Amanda Nelund is an assistant professor in the Sociology Department at MacEwan University. Her articles have appeared in journals such as Restorative Justice: An International Journal and Radical Criminology.
