Our Politics, Our Power, Our Peace. This item is unavailable. Our Politics, Our Power, Our Peace

Too many countries have allowed their politics to become reactive, angry, narrow in vision, and short in foresight. To further detriment, too much of the world’s politics is being driven by false urgency, short term gains in power or profit, an extreme level of non-compromise, and too often powered by emotions not reason. Add those together, and we are being driven further away from prosperity and social stability. Our Politics, Our Power, Our Peace explores how modern politics increasingly affects our emotional well-being, relationships, and the stability and longevity of a society and government. Rather than focusing on political parties, particular governments, or blame, Vincent examines how our fears, divisiveness, and constant political tensions are not conducive to healthy, prosperous, and the long-term stability of any community or country.

Vincent draws on his experiences in both twenty-one years of teaching hospital emergency nursing and thirteen years in law enforcement, to offer a human-centered perspective. He dissects why so many feel overwhelmed, angry, or powerless in today’s political climate. He empowers the readers exhausted by political division and young adults learning to navigate an increasingly volatile world, this book encourages readers to reclaim their personal peace, think more independently, and engage with society from a place of wisdom rather than only the views and answers presented by the worlds political parties and news outlets.

Vincent Dodd is a former twenty-one-year emergency nurse and thirteen-year law enforcement officer whose thirty-four years of front-line public service helped shape his deep interest in human behavior, emotional resilience, and the social forces that influence our lives. Raised in the marshlands of southeastern Louisiana, he began his healthcare career in the emergency department at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, where he worked and learned alongside LSU and Tulane medical residents and highly experienced nurses in one of the nation's busiest and teaching hospitals.

After more than two decades in nursing, Vincent transitioned into law enforcement, driven by a lifelong desire to better understand the profession and its issues that shape the views and behavior in the two-way relationship between citizens and law enforcement. Drawing on his experience in healthcare, crisis response, and public service, his writing focuses on helping readers navigate and decrease the stressors of our life, work, and relationships. He has also driven to help slow down our escalating numbers of depression, anxiety, addictions, suicide attempts, and suicides.

Vincent first wrote Our Dying, Our Death, Our Grief to help people navigate the commonly avoided dark subject when it does arrive into your life. He went on to write Our Life, Our Work, Our Humanness and Our Politics, Our Power, Our Peace at the request of friends and fans. Through his books and speaking, Vincent empowers us to look for wider tools to deepen life's growth and experiences while creating greater peace and productivity in our relationships with others, but most importantly within ourselves.
