Add to basket137 p. 21 cm. Sound and square binding in cloth-covered boards. Bump to top edge of both boards and the text block. Light wear to corner tips. Spine titles are rubbed and mostly gone. Some soil and foxing to both boards, more visible in certain light. Last few pages have a stain to the top margin. Otherwise the inside pages are clean and unmarked. Endpapers are toned. The story of the author and his dog Polaris, with numerous black and white photographs of this dog and others. Polaris was acquired in 1914 when the author went to Flag Island with Admiral Robert Peary to see some of the dogs which had drawn his sledges to the North Pole. Polaris was a puppy from the litter of one of these dogs.
