Paperback. In Singapore, an international martial arts tournament turns into a nightmare when a French teenager disappears. Her boyfriend, Adrien, a fifteen-year-old fighter, sets out to find her in a world he doesn't understand-one ruled by violence, shadowy figures and an unforgiving state. The murder of young Marie becomes the spark that ignites a popular uprising. At the heart of the turmoil, several lives are thrown off course - Patrick, the French coach torn between loyalty and rage; Victor, the quiet child transformed into a leader; and Michael Ong, an intelligence officer caught between duty and conscience. As tensions rise, the Singaporean regime begins to crumble, and geopolitical balances collapse. Each must confront a world from which there is no return - no return to innocence, to trust or to silence.Set in 2010 against the contrasts of France's working-class dojang and Singapore's polished yet precarious modernity, The Point of No Return is a political thriller blending martial arts action, youthful drama and incisive social critique. Drawing from the author's decade in Singapore and expertise as a taekwondo instructor, it explores themes of corruption's corrosive reach, the fragility of societal order and resilience in the face of irreversible change.
