Paperback. Beyond Point Chevalier's obvious seaside attractions lies a rich and colourful past that has seen this Auckland suburb emerge as a trailblazer in a number of spheres. A hotbed of jazz and dancing in the 1920s, one of New Zealand's earliest state housing enclaves, home to more than its share of sporting legends and once one of the city's more vibrant town centres, Point Chevalier has made a significant contribution on numerous fronts and is affectionately remembered by many. This comprehensive history brings to life the people and places that have shaped Point Chevalier since the 1860s. Generously illustrated with archival imagery as well as contemporary photographs that capture the area's enduring sense of community, The Point offers a unique insight into the evolution of this popular suburb and the historic features that remain today. A generously illustrated and highly readable account of Point Chevalier's rich and colourful past. Shipping may be from our UK warehouse or from our Australian or US warehouses, depending on stock availability.…
