Superb binding, dark blue boards in very good condition, lavishly presented with black blind stamped decoration glisten gilt titles to front and spine, dramatic recessed gilt vignette of an angel playing a harp surrounded by frames of gilt decoration. On the spine the titles are in gilt under which is a gilt harp and publishers gilt stamp that points to the 'Landscape Series of Poets. ' rear board blind stamped with patterns. A hint of wear to the corners but generally in fine condition, all edge gilt. Brown endpapers, with a small booksellers label to the bottom of the front paste-down 'Thieme's, Boek-en Musziehandel. Zutphen. ' No marks or inscriptions, The entire text is presented within coloured illustrated frames, starting with the title page which is enclosed within a blue frame echoing a scene that includes palm trees and a moon, 490 pages. The book contains 'Engravings on Steel. ' This would make a wonderful presentation or gift to someone who appreciates English Literature. Bright blue and gold is a eye-catching. The photo gives a good idea of what the book is like but it does not quite do justince to the brightness of the gilt or the level to which the main vignette of the angel is inset. , 7.75 x 5.00 inches approx.
