nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - A wry smile flickers across the face of early twentieth-century America in this sparkling collection of light verse, where wit and satire meet the gentle absurdities of everyday life. Each poem dances between the playful and the pointed, capturing the quirks of a rapidly changing world with a deftness that both entertains and surprises. The humour here is never heavy-handed; instead, it glimmers with subtlety, inviting the reader to linger over clever turns of phrase and unexpected punchlines. This is a volume that delights in the art of the well-placed jest and the mischievous observation, offering a refreshing alternative to the earnestness often found in poetry of its era. The verses, crafted in crisp English and brimming with personality, reflect the unique sensibility of early 20th century poetry, where modern anxieties and old-world manners frequently collide. Each piece stands as a testament to the enduring appeal of humorous verse, making it an ideal poetry gift book for those who appreciate a lighter touch and a sharp, observant wit. The collection's satirical edge lends it a distinct place among American poetry books, as it pokes fun at social conventions and human foibles with an affectionate, knowing tone. The poet's mastery of light verse poems ensures that each composition is both accessible and memorable, offering a lively reading experience for adults seeking both amusement and insight. These witty poems, with their turn of the century charm, invite readers to revisit a time when laughter was a subtle rebellion and cleverness a valued currency. This book was out of print for decades and is now republished by Alpha Editions. It has been restored for today's and future generations. This edition is not just a reprint - it's a collector's item and a cultural treasure. Whether for the seasoned collector or the casual reader, this volume stands as an engaging tribute to the enduring pleasures of classic humorous poetry.…
