Limited / Numbered Edition. This limited edition of 150 copies was printed at the Old Hall Press, Burton Salmon, Yorkshire for the Foundling Press. This copy is mumbered 42 of 150 copies printed in Monotype Garamond on Fabriano mould-made paper with the title-page in red and black. Decorated with typographic and woodcut ornaments. Full blindstamped calf with red leather spine label titled in gilt. Fine in slipcase. Poetry of the Civil War. From introduction, "The Poems of Clement Paxman have lain largely unpublished manuscripts since the mid 17th Century. Paman (1612-63) was a contemporary of Davenant, Suckling, Crashaw, Cleveland, Denham, Cowley and Lovelace although not, apparently, a member of the Cavalier circle. Like theirs, his work exhibits the strong influence of John Donne, though it is touched also by Shakespeare and Jonson." pp.xiii[1],126 + colophon, clean and tight. A beautiful copy. Size: Crown 8vo.
